A massively depleated squad saw Old House Athletic start the game with 10 men for the first 15 minutes. During that time Arden Athletic scored to put themselves in front. Even after Old House were up to a full eleven, they couldn't organise their formation, and after 20 minutes Arden continued to push and made if 2 - 0. Eventually Old House started to push forward themselves, which saw Ashley Pawson go close from a free-kick. This was followed on the half-hour by a great move down the right-hand side and the ball come in from Gary Morris to Steve Brookes, who flicked it to captain Guy Homer, who buried the ball to pull Old House back to 2 - 1. However, 2 minutes later, Arden struck again to finish the half 3 - 1. A rousing half-time speech by gaffer Dave Smith saw Old House come out fighting. With some heavy pressure from the off, Brookes headed in his first of the season over the keeper from a throw-in by Guy Taylor, to pull Old House back to 3 - 2. Old House continued to pile on the pressure and dominated the play. After several close-calls it took a free-kick, nodded on from Morris onto the toe of Simon Charles, 7 minutes from time for the equaliser. Both sides continued to push for the winner and the last few minutes were extremely tense for both sides, but the game finished level, 3 - 3. A great come-back for Old House in a fantastic game that was a credit to both sets of players and mangers. Old House still in mid-table, but with a massive boost to spirits after such a great performance in difficult circumstances. Will we have a full evelen next week? Will some of the Billy Big Time's get their shirts back? Will Gary score those 5 goals by Christmas to take Dave's money? Will Kev make another cameo appearence at training? Same time, same place next week.
