OHAFC V's Arden Athletic
3 - 3 (8 - 7 on pens)

The game started with a fast pace and it was end to end football for the first 10 mins. Both sides had a few good chances, but Old House Athletic were first to find the net. Old House went in front after
15 mins with Martin Butler setting up a great finish from Ashley Pawson for his first of the season. Butler then added another 2 minutes later ripping Arden Athletic's defence apart with a great show of control in the box. Arden didn't give up and came close to putting themselves back into the game on several occasions, but just couldn't take their chances. However, Old House soon pushed further ahead when, from a seemingly safe angle, Butler laid the ball back to Nathan Roberts and gifted him a tap-in, also for his first of the season. As the half time whistle blew, Old House were firmly in control and seemingly had the game won.

Arden pulled a goal back 10 minutes into the second half after Old House just couldn't clear their lines.
Mike Bowness went close with a free kick minutes later, but Old House's forwards just couldn't repeat their form from the first half and the defence had gone to sleep. By the final whistle, Arden had pulled the
scoreline back to 3 - 3.

The first half of extra time saw both teams pushing for the winner, but few good chances appeared.
During the second period, Butler had a good strike which was well saved by the Arden keeper. However, neither team could find the winner during the extra 30 minutes.

The game went to penalties and Old House could have won it after the 5, But Joe Haycock taking the final one scuffed his shot wide of the keeper's left post. It took a further four penalties each to find a winner and after Arden's man had put his shot wide of Mark Wolsey's right-hand post, it was down to Matt Wilkins to keep his head and fire home the winner for Old House to put them through to the next round of the Senior Cup.

Through to the next round, Old House look forward to getting back to putting some points on the board in the league. Next week's meeting with struggling Queslett can't be taken likely with some other teams in the division starting to rack up the wins.

Will Chris ever regain his shirt? Will Dave finally get those drinks in? Will anyone actually turn up for this bleep test? Keep watching this space for all the latest Old House news.
