4 - 4

After going behind fairly early on, Old House managed to pull the goal back when the Bournville keeper spilled Mike Bowness' strike from his free kick and Gary Morris smashed in the rebound. Bournville then went ahead again after an extremely dubious penalty decision. Minutes later, an equally dubious penalty decision at the other end saw Dan sheldon draw Old House level and the half finished level at 2-2.

After the break, Old House turned up the pressure and Martin Butler finished off as Si Charles was hacked down and made it 3 - 2 for The House. Sheldon then pushed Old house further ahead with his second of the game as the light was rapidly fading. Old House were looking likely to see the game off despite not putting away any further chances. However, with 5 minutes to go Bournville turned up the pressure and manged to bundle the ball over the line, and they could almost taste a point. Some very nervous defending buckled under the pressure again in the closing minutes and Old House had to settle for the draw, after throwing those 2 points away in as many minutes.

With 4 points on the board and second place Old House have had a good start to the season, which goes on hold for a week now with Sunday's game against local club New Inns Harborne in the Coronation cup. Will Old House progress to the second round, or will the division 2 side provide an upset in the 'Battle of the Boozers'?
