OHAFC V's Bournville Celtic

Very blustery conditions led to a difficult game for both teams. Old House started well and saw a great goal-scoring opportunity for Simon Charles in the first minute that was well saved by the Bournville keeper. Bournville were first to find the net after only 5 minutes of play. They then increased their lead after 20 minutes, when a shot slipped underneath Old House keeper Chris Staite. Nick went close minutes later when he rattled the crossbar with a shot-cum-cross from almost the half-way line. Old House had their chances come and go, but it was down to Nathan Roberts to score his first league goal of the season to put Old House back in the game on the stroke of half-time with a sublime finish from 20 yards out. The first half finished 2 - 1 to Bournville.

After a rousing half-time team talk Old House came out fighting and demanded most of the second-half play but seemed to lack the cutting edge in the final third. It seemed a goal was imminent for Old House to draw the game level. However, Bournville weren't without reply and created some very good chances on the break. It was one of these break-away chances that saw Bournville's third goal to seal their victory, with only a couple of minutes left on the clock.

With only four league games left the chances to claw their way up the table are fading away for Old House. After a season of poor away results and three away games and a home fixture to the possible league winners, Smithswood Colts, left, the possibility of many more points seems tricky. Old House must make these remaining away fixtures count, playing opposition all in the bottom half of the table.

Next week sees the remaining chance for Old House to win something this season. With the promise of the Semi-final the following week, will Old House find the form that they are capable of? Court Celtic are a very good side and have seen both sides of winning and losing against Old House this season so far. Which team will show on Sunday?
