Court Celtic V's OHAFC

Following a great start from Old House Athletic, John McDermott slotted away a goal from Martin Butler's little side-tap to put Old House a goal in front after 12 minutes. Butler then lined up the second with a cheeky backheel into the path of Dan Fox, who smashed it away to put Old House 2 - 0 up after only 20 minutes. Old House continued to push but despite plenty of chances and an excellent performance, couldn't find the back of the net again. Court Celtic grabbed a goal back just before the break when Mark Wolsey failed to head the ball clear and their striker nipped in, leaving keeper Chris Johnson no chance whatsoever.

Court Celtic had a chance to equalise just after the break, when Johnson fumbled the ball, but Wolsey redeemed himself for his earlier error and got back to clear the ball off the line. Within 5 minutes Celtic did manage to level the score and were getting back into the game. It could have gone either way from here. Five minutes later and Court Celtic scored again to put themselves in front for the first time in the game. From here, Old House went to pieces and just couldn't get back on course. Court scored again with 20 minutes left to seal the game. The final score, 4 - 2 to Court Celtic.

An unfortunate result for the 11 players that were present. With 13 squad members missing, it's always going to be difficult. An outstanding 45 minutes, followed by an average 45. Court Celtic now leap-frog us in the table and we are beginning to fall further behind the leaders, with Bournville 11 points ahead.

Will we beat Crusaders again, as we did in pre-season? Will we have a full squad next week? Will Mark ever recover from that full-length run of the pitch? Can anybody beat Chris' bleep test result? Same time, same place next week.
