Despite most of the early pressure, Court Celtic were first to find the back of the bet after 25 minutes. Old House equalised about ten minutes later with a cross from Martin Butler to the near post that saw Simon Charles and Stuart Blick waiting. Stuart calmly slotted home his second goal for the club. A fairly even first half was reflected in the score and by the effort of both teams. Both teams came out wanting to make a good start to the second half. Court Celtic hit the crossbar inside the first minute. Seconds later, Guy Taylor was just a fraction too late to finish off a fumble by the Court goalkeeper, but made up for this a few minutes later as he placed the ball past the keeper from Martin Butler's cross for his first competitive goal of the season. After taking the lead Old House didn't want to give it up and continued to press. Simon Charles was the next to score ten minutes later, chesting the ball in at the back post from a superbly placed corner by Tom Haycock. Court Celtic didn't give up the chase and managed to pull the score back to 3 - 2 with 15 minutes left to play. However, straight from the kick-off, Tom Haycock chased down a defender, won the ball and buried past the keeper to push Old House further in front. From that point on the game was won. Old House kept pushing and managed two more goals before the final whistle. The first from Steve Brookes, who smashed home a clearance from 25 yards out and the second, another from Simon Charles. A superb display of football for the entire 90 minutes. A well deserved victory and revenge for losing to Court Celtic earlier in the season. A place back up the table and a team firing goals in from all angles. Next week a break from league action sees Old House playing for a place in the quarter-finals of the Senior cup against Division 2's Yardley Athletic. We still have a lot to say about who wins this division and have a great opportunity to bring some much-desired silverware home to Calthorpe.
