A poor start saw Old House Athletic go behind New Inns Harborne to two penalties. The first for a rash challange in the box by Stu Blick and the second for what the refree deemed to be a push! The only saving grace for Old House wa a great header from a corner by Gary Morris. Early in the second half, both teams went a man down after words were exchanged between New Inns keeper Joe Cummins and Old House striker Martin Butler. New inns had another man sent off ten minutes later after a blatant hand-ball to deny Morris his second. Dan Sheldon converted the penalty to bring it back even at 2 - 2. Old House couldn't take advantage of the extra man and despite piling on the last pressure, conceded in the 89th minute from a misunderstanding between keeper Chris Johnson & his defence. Now the George Tomlinson Cup dream is over, Old House look forward to getting back to winning ways in the league against Smithswood Colts next Sunday. |
