With neither side playing particularly well, chances came and went for both teams. St Annes were the first to find the back of the net after 25 minutes with a break down their right and a great flick into the box for their striker to finish. St Annes then doubled their lead 5 minutes later. Old House then started to look interested and had a few chances and managed to pull a goal back when Martin Butler sprang the offside trap, rounded a defender and lobbed the keeper to score with seconds left to half-time. Old House started the second half well and piled on the pressure, but St Annes defended well and Old House just couldn't get a decent opportunity. St Annes then managed to break Old House's spirit completely 15 minutes in, with a quick break down their left hand side and a final goal to finish the match 3 - 1. Another poor result, just when Old House are really needing some points. With a few draws and losses lately, we are starting to slide down to the wrong end of the table, while the teams we should be mixing it up with are pulling away. Kingfisher away next week could be where the comeback starts. A team that some quick players up front, but have the worst defensive record in the league. How many players will we have next Sunday? Will Chris Johnson ever regain the keepers' shirt with Chris Staite playing as he is? Will Simon start picking up some hat-tricks again? Same time, same place next week.
