OHAFC V's St Annes
6 - 4

An important game for both teams saw some good pressure from Old House Athletic to start off. This paid off 5 minutes into the game when a high ball from Dan Fox fooled the keeper and dropped into the net to put Old House in front. Old House kept their foot on the gas and more chances followed, including another great strike from Fox, but it wasnt until 20 minutes later Martin Butler made it 2 - 0, getting on the end of a great long ball from Mark Wolsey and flicking it over the keeper. More chances followed and resulted in Butler being brought down by the keeper and Dan Sheldon firing home the resulting penalty. Towards the end of the half, St Annes made a quick break and one of few visits into their attacking half of the pitch, only to be denied by a great reaction save from Old House keeper, Chris Johnson. The half finished 3 - 0 to Old House.

The second half saw a further blow for St Annes, when, straight from the kick-off, Mike Bowness sent a long ball forward, which the St Annes keeper judged wrong, got a finger to, but ended up in his net. 10 minutes later, Butler got his second of the game when he chased a quick ball and lifted it over the advancing keeper and into the net to make it 5 - 0. 10 minutes later, St Annes started to stand up and take notice just at the time Old House lost their head. They grabbed three goals back in quick succession over the next 10 minutes. Guy Homer then turned the tide back Old Houses' way with a great turn and strike from a corner. More chances followed for both teams in the final 10 minutes, but it was only St Annes that found the back of the net again. The game finished 6 - 4 and a great victory, if not a totally dominating performance for Old House.

Another important result for Old House moves them further up the table. Next week's fixture against Crusaders is the only league fixture being played and victory will see Old House move into the top four, still with a game in hand.

Will Simon make a spectacular return to fitness? Will Batty's hamstring ever be the same again? Will we ever see Gary again? Keep watching kids...
