OHAFC V's Yew Tree

Last week's mudbath had dried out to leave a very rough playing surface over most of the pitch. However, both sides got on with business and after only a few minutes of play it was clear to see that there is a lot more to Yew Tree than their current league position suggests. Chances came and went, but Old House seemed to lack their usual finesse and cutting edge up-front and a combination of this and some sound goalkeeping saw the half finish with no goals.

The second half continued where the first half left off. Cjances wide, over the top and saved. In the end it took a goal from Simon Charles in the last five minutes to seal the victoty. A long ball down-field saw the keeper fumble and Charles headed it home to seal the three points.

Next weeks game against local rivals Bournville Celtic will see Old House trying to avenge the points stolen in the last 5 minutes earlier in the season. Will Old House take the chance to upset Bournville's title hopes? Same time, same place..........
